Our annual trip to the apple orchard was off to a great start! We planned it earlier this year so that there would actually be apples on the trees, fired up the Zipcar and hit the road! We took the hour long drive to Outhouse Orchards in North Salem, NY ready to grab ripe apples straight from the trees and come home for an #AllAppleEverything feast. But, when we arrived, the apple trees were bare. BARE bare.
Apparently, there was a frost in April that ruined 60% of the orchard's crops. Thanks mother nature!! Sooooo... our apple picking weekend turned into a fall fun fest instead :)
My mother-in-law and niece were visiting so the girls hopped in the moon bounce, ate snacks and hung out together. The grown ups snacked and watched them enjoy themselves.
The weather looked out for us so we were able to enjoy a few rain free hours. And although we came home apple and pumpkin free, we had a great time.
Better luck next year ;) #WishfulThinking
